Working together for local Dogs in Need - Cason L

This past October (2024), we held a pet adoption and free microchipping clinic at the Carroll County Dog Pound, in partnership with Huebner Subaru and the Carroll County Humane Society. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and we had a steady stream of folks from the community stop by. Some adopted, some just came to say hello and show support. Huebner Subaru helped make the day possible. They covered the cost of adoption prep and basic veterinary care for up to 26 dogs, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. They also brought 20 New Dog Parent Kits for the new adopters and handed out 300 Subaru Outback dog toys, which were a big hit with visitors. Events like this help us connect with the community and give more dogs a better chance at adoption. We appreciate Huebner Subaru’s support and the role they played in making the day a success.

Huebner Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Shellee B

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Carrollton, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Huebner Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Huebner Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/16/2025, Huebner Subaru donated 204 shoes/socks to Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Huge help to our teachers and students - Holly D

Back-to-school time is always busy. There are supplies to gather, classrooms to prep, and a whole lot of excitement (and nerves) from kids and staff alike. But this year, thanks to Huebner Subaru, we started the school year with something extra: support we could feel. Through Subaru Loves Learning, Huebner Subaru adopted 10 of our classrooms and donated $500 to each one. That’s money that went straight to our teachers—no strings, no hoops to jump through—just trust that they’d use it where it was needed most. And they did. Some bought hands-on materials that kids don’t usually get to use at home. Others stocked up on books, tools for small group learning, or supplies for social-emotional support. Michelle E. told us her students ask almost every day if they can use the manipulatives she got. Lisa T. said it’s been amazing to see her students learn while having fun. Chris B. and Jeannie B. used their donations to help all of our students with emotional health and behavior tools—resources that really make a difference in how kids show up each day. And thanks to Huebner Subaru’s help, we also pulled off one of our favorite family events: Reading Under the Lights. Our students got to read under the stadium lights at the football field, play literacy games, and take home a book of their own. It’s simple stuff, but it sticks with them—and that matters. What I appreciate most is that this isn’t a one-time thing. Huebner Subaru has been there for us before, and they keep showing up. Not for attention. Not for credit. Just because they care about this community—and the kids in it. So from all of us here at Carrollton Elementary, thank you. You’ve helped us start the year strong, and reminded us that we’ve got a pretty special village around us.

Blankets, Arts and Crafts for the Win! - Megan B

In partnership for the 7th consecutive year with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Subaru and Huebner Subaru delivered warm blankets, arts and crafts kits, and handwritten messages of hope to patients bravely fighting cancer at the Akron Children's Hospital. Patients battling blood cancer are in the fight of their lives. Every three minutes in the U.S. a new person joins those diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. The recovery is long and often leaves patients feeling weak, cold and isolated. The donation of blankets, arts and crafts kits, and messages of encouragement from Huebner Subaru provided hope, warmth, and support for blood cancer patients nationwide.

Hoarding Dogs - Cason L

This is Warden Leggett with a Carroll County Dog Warden’s Office and Adoption Center. Through a partnership with Huebner Subaru, we hosted an adoption event throughout the month of October. This could not have happened at a better time. During the month of October we brought in 28 dogs. Including 20 that were a part of a hoarding situation. This adoption event brings more exposure and foot traffic into our facility. By the end of October, we had adopted 18 dogs to new families, including seven from the hoarding case. This would not have happened if not for Huebners Subaru, and the Cole family holding this event to get more dogs adopted. The dogs from the hoarding case were particularly difficult to get adopted out as they had spent all their lives in crates. They were terrified of any human contact. These dogs have been robbed of the chance to be dogs for years. They didn’t know how to play like a dog. They didn’t know how to interact with other dogs or people like a dog should. One of the dogs that stood out to me was Lacy. Along with being an older, dog and terrified of human contact, Lacey had skin issues as well. By partnering with Heubner Subaru, and the added exposure, this event brought to us, Lacy. Lacy has a chance to become a loving dog for the first time in her life. With events like this partnered with Huebners Subaru, and Subaru of America, these dogs and many others are given the chance to be loved and get the treatment they need. I want to personally thank Huebners Subaru of Carrollton, Ohio, the Cole, family, and Subaru of America for giving these dogs a chance for a better life.

Carrollton Elementary School - Matt N

Carrollton Elementary School has been overwhelmed by the generosity of Huebner and Subaru. We are blessed to have the support of not only the local business but of the employees as well. The last few years have been particularly difficult for students. Significant gaps have become an issue in both reading and emotional learning. This year we have been able to use the $5,000 to continue to provide reading and emotional supports for students in every grade level by purchasing fun and engaging reading games and tools for supporting students' emotional well-being. We truly appreciate the continued support from our local and corporate Subaru partners.

Pet Adoption Donations and New Pet Parent Kits - Cason L

Throughout the month of October, Huebner Subaru, along with Subaru, partnered with us to provide $100 for every animal adoption. These funds go to offsetting the costs that new owners have when adopting an animal from our shelter. In addition, they donated 20 New Pet Parent Kits with assorted Subaru branded pet gear that they would need for their new family member. We are very grateful for Huebner Subaru, and Subaru, for both the adoption donations and the new pet parent kits, and look forward to an ongoing relationship with them!

Huebner Subaru Supports Cancer Survivors - Dana L

On Tuesday, June 26 Huebner Subaru joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central Ohio Chapter to deliver 80 Subaru Loves to Care blankets, 80 craft kits and care cards to Akron Children’s Hospital. The dealership was greeted warmly by the staff at the hospital and the group unloaded the vehicles together. Being at Akron Children’s Hospital was a unique experience because there is so much hope among the doctors, nurses, and administrators that can only be experienced in person. As we drove away and looked back at the hospital, it was an uplifting feeling to know that the kids would have their days brightened by the blankets, craft kits and care cards that we delivered as a team with Subaru. Thank you, Subaru, for your commitment to cancer patient and survivors!
